PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan — Project Zacchaeus (PZC), through its Eco Kolek program, recently met with independent power producer Delta P Inc. (DPI) to discuss a potential partnership aimed at promoting environmental sustainability in Puerto Princesa.
The exploratory meeting, held on March 9, focused on possible collaborations to advocate for the circular economy, with initial discussions targeting educational and community initiatives in Barangay Sta. Lourdes. Both organizations explored how to align their goals to strengthen environmental awareness and promote responsible waste practices at the grassroots level.
As part of the proposed partnership, DPI expressed its willingness to support Eco Kolek's community-driven programs. To ensure the success of the initiative, both parties agreed on the importance of introducing the advocacy to the Santa Lourdes Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) to secure local support and ensure proper coordination.
Eco Kolek is currently preparing a project proposal detailing the prospective activities, timelines, and roles for the collaboration. A follow-up meeting is scheduled for later this month to finalize the partnership and lay the groundwork for a sustained environmental campaign in the community.
