PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Eco Kolek conducted the final evaluation of its Eco Warriors Training Program on November 27, 2025, marking the completion of a two-and-a-half-month capacity-building initiative focused on sustainable waste management and community environmental leadership.
The evaluation was held at the Barangay Multi-Purpose Hall in Laphipai Subdivision, Barangay Sicsican, and was attended by Eco Kolek staff and 28 Eco Warriors who completed the full training cycle. The activity consisted of a 100-item written examination designed to assess participants’ knowledge retention, understanding of core environmental concepts, and readiness to apply practical skills in community settings
The examination covered a wide range of topics addressed during the training program, including environmental protection, solid waste management, circular economy principles, plastic pollution, waste segregation, Materials Recovery Facility operations, waste auditing, upcycling, waste-to-worth approaches, basic entrepreneurship, product costing, marketing strategies, and community engagement.
According to the post-activity report, the evaluation served both as a measurement of individual learning outcomes and as an assessment of the overall effectiveness of the training program. Participants completed the examination within the allotted time and demonstrated disciplined participation throughout the process
The Eco Warriors Training Program was designed to prepare community-based waste workers and environmental advocates to support barangay-level waste management systems and promote sustainable practices within their respective communities. The final evaluation formally concluded the training phase and confirmed the participants’ preparedness to take on these roles.
