Eco Warriors Lead Monthly Clean-Up Drive at Circular Economy Learning Hub
Twenty-nine Eco Warriors joined staff of Project Zacchaeus Marketing Cooperative (PZC) on July 17, 2026, for a clean-up drive at the Circular Economy Learning Hub in Barangay Sicsican, clearing overgrown vegetation and restoring the grounds of the facility that serves as the operational and educational center of the PZC-Eco Kolek Program. The activity, a monthly initiative spearheaded by PZC staff in collaboration with the Eco Warriors, drew a total of 34 participants. Beyond maintaining the hub itself, the drive was designed to strengthen cooperation and camaraderie among the Eco Warriors—a community of informal waste collectors at the heart of Eco Kolek's circular economy model—through shared service to the facility they use.

Most participants arrived ahead of schedule, allowing the drive to begin on time. Throughout the afternoon, Eco Warriors worked in teams to clear the surrounding areas of the hub, with two representatives from the barangay lending additional support by bringing and operating a grass cutter, which significantly accelerated the clearing of overgrown grass around the property.
Following the clean-up, participants gathered for refreshments, providing an opportunity for fellowship and team-building. Ms. Arroyo addressed the group, expressing appreciation for the Eco Warriors' commitment and encouraging them to continue their role in environmental stewardship.
The Circular Economy Learning Hub serves as the base for Eco Kolek's waste recovery operations and community programs. Regular clean-up drives ensure the facility remains a functional and welcoming space for the Eco Warriors and for the students, partners, and visitors who engage with the program.
Organizers noted that the activity met its objectives, fostering collaboration among participants and reinforcing a shared commitment to a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable community.
The Eco Warriors' Clean-Up Drive is conducted monthly under the PZC-Eco Kolek Program, an environmental initiative of Project Zacchaeus Marketing Cooperative built on a circular economy model that provides livelihood opportunities to informal waste collectors in Puerto Princesa City.
