Project Zacchaeus (PZC) and Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc. (CCFPI) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the Eco Kolek Learning Site. This strategic partnership is designed to address critical societal gaps faced by the marginalized community of informal waste collectors, known as Eco-Warriors.
The new Learning Site will provide a dedicated infrastructure to continue and expand the impactful work initially developed under the PZC and USAID’s Clean Cities Blue Ocean (CCBO) partnership. It will serve as the hub for capacity-building programs aimed at empowering Eco-Warriors, enhancing their skills, and improving their livelihoods.
More than just a physical space, this project is envisioned as a central resource for various stakeholders. The Eco Kolek Learning Site will be open to communities, organizations, and individuals in need of a dedicated site for training and knowledge-sharing on community-based entrepreneurial opportunities related to waste management and material recovery.
This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to sustainable development, solid waste management, and empowering vulnerable communities in the Philippines.
