Project Zacchaeus (PZC) Eco Kolek staff successfully concluded a comprehensive mapping and profiling activity across the nineteen puroks (zones) of Barangay Sicsican from October 13 to 22, 2025.
The operation, led by PZC staff including Operations Officer Dennis Creach Barcelona, was designed to gather field-based data necessary for establishing efficient waste collection logistics.
Strategic Mapping Objectives
The primary objective of the nine-day activity was to establish a precise geographical and infrastructural baseline for the barangay's solid waste management program. The team physically traversed all designated zones, including residential areas like Banaba and Mahogany, and specialized coastal areas such as the Cuito Relocation Site mangrove area.
Key data points documented include:
Road Status: Assessment of road conditions to prevent vehicle damage and ensure the longevity of the project’s motorcycle top-down collection units.
Collection Points: Identification of feasible waste collection points to optimize resident participation and accessibility.
Route Design: Development of the most efficient collection routes for the Eco Warriors, aiming to reduce fuel consumption and save time during operations.
Operational Impact
The resulting comprehensive spot map will serve as the essential blueprint for the PZC Eco Kolek operation. This systematic data collection directly supports the project's goal of professionalizing the waste collection sector by transitioning to data-driven, optimized logistics.
The mapping initiative reinforces PZC's commitment to safety and operational efficiency within its environmental protection mandate.
